Mikhail Kravets will remain at the head of Avangard next season.
According to Sport-Express, the contract with the specialist was signed for one year.
Omsk was looking for a new coach in the North American market, including trying to bring back Bob Hartley, but could not agree with the Canadian.
Kravets became the interim head coach of Avangard instead of Dmitry Ryabykin on October 10, 2022. Then he was approved as head coach by signing a contract until the end of the 2022/23 season.
In the playoffs of 2023, the Omsk club, led by Kravets, lost to Ak Bars 1-4 in the East final series.
Hartley is not ready to lead the Avangard: “The timing is very bad. I am entering the final phase of building my third apartment building.”
