In Volyn, an official of the local customs, who is called her “overseer”, Mikhail Burdeyny, was detained. More than $ 700 thousand were seized from his car.

“As part of the pre-trial investigation, the personal car of one of the heads of the customs post of the Volyn customs of the State Customs Service was searched, during which more than 700 thousand US dollars were seized. The funds were distributed in certain amounts with a note for whom they were intended,” the message says. …
According to preliminary information from the investigation, he organized an illegal mechanism for the illegal movement of goods in large volumes without paying the mandatory customs payments stipulated by the legislation.

Thus, food, branded clothing, auto parts, various equipment, household appliances and other goods were transported to the customs territory of Ukraine from Poland under the guise of empty vehicles using the scheme of replacing cheap goods with expensive ones, as well as by reloading undeclared consignments of goods.
At the end of each month, the official systematically collected and accumulated funds received from the operation of the illegal mechanism.
In April 2021, Burdeyny was removed from office after a meeting NSDC regarding the circle of persons whose activities are associated with smuggling.

Now the issue of seizing the seized funds is being resolved and additional information has been entered into the Unified Register of Investigations into the illegal enrichment of the suspect.
On the Telegram channel “Kiev operational” wrote that in addition to the money in Burdeyny’s car, law enforcement officers found a notebook with the names of whom and how much he had been transferring from his “black cash register” for a long time.
“The names are very famous there. There is even one” dreamer “who wants to become the head of customs or even a deputy minister of finance,” the journalists write.
Scandals with Burdein
According to journalist Yevgeny Plinsky, which he published in an article for “Anticora”, Burdeyny applied for the post of head of the Volyn and Chernivtsi customs. Since 2016, he was the “overseer” of the first and oversaw corruption schemes at the Yagodyn post. In 2020, he even temporarily presided over this post.
