Miķelsons concludes Latvia’s participation in the World Aquatics Championships with 20th place – Swimming – Sportacentrs.com

Mikkelsons, for whom this is his debut at the World Championships, crossed the finish line in the difficult discipline after four minutes and 19.33 seconds (4:19.33), thus ahead of a competitor, but another athlete was disqualified.

This is the second best performance ever in the 400m overall for Mikkelson. Recall that during the FINA World Cup in Berlin in October, Valmieri completed the 400m distance overall in four minutes and 15.90 seconds (4:15.90), improving on his previous best result at this distance by almost eight seconds .

This was the last start of the Latvian athletes in the world championship and already tomorrow our team will return home. Four athletes represented the Latvian flag in Melbourne – Kristaps Miķelsons, Đirts Feldbergs, Daniils Bobrovs and Arina Baikova.
