The writer, Mikel Alvira, will present ‘Mostaza’, “a novel where the everyday collides with reality and invites us to rediscover ourselves”. The appointment, this Tuesday, January 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the Espacio Santos Ochoa de Calvo Sotelo, in Logroo. In the act, the author chat with the journalist Raquel Dvalos.
‘Mostaza’ tells us the story of Valerio, a fifty-year-old designer with a peculiar character, a widower for twenty years and the father of a daughter whom he feels is absent. Valerio leaves Madrid because of news that turns his life upside down.
Who does not receive setbacks that make them doubt everything? Stunned, he turns to a friend, Rosa, with whom he has an indecipherable relationship, who proposes escaping to his farm, where he grows mustard, to collect his thoughts. What he does not suspect is that in his stay he will run into unusual people and situations that will make him discover facets of himself that he is not aware of.
With a relaxed tone, absurd turns and Alvira’s fine humor, Valerio will take us through his story, not exempt from drama and victories, reminding us that everyday life collides with reality, with the evidence of the passing of the years, with the absence, detachment or the fall of our own walls. That’s what ‘Mostaza’ talks about, about life.

Mikel Alvira (Pamplona, 1969). Writer and teacher, he has published twenty titles, some of which have become best-sellers such as El Silencio de las Hayas, El Color de las Mareas or La Novela de Rebeca. He has alternated for years the classroom (University and Secondary Education) with plastic and stage manifestations, scripts, essays, poems and novels. He has also been a collaborator in different written media and has several literary awards. He is an ambassador of the Promise Foundation. A great storyteller, his style is direct, precious, loaded with subtleties.
