Mike van Beijnen’s adventure at FC Emmen has lasted remarkably short. The defender’s contract was immediately terminated on Friday, while he had only signed earlier this month.
Van Beijnen was brought in on a free transfer on July 3. The 24-year-old right back signed for two seasons, with an option for a third season. Nevertheless, the cooperation is only limited to 25 days.
In preparation for the new season, trainer Fred Grim, who has also been technical manager for a few weeks, came to the conclusion that it is better to stop the cooperation. Van Beijnen is now transfer-free.
Before his short-lived adventure at FC Emmen, Van Beijnen was under contract with Fortuna Sittard. He played one Eredivisie match for that club last season. He came into action against FC Twente for eight minutes as a substitute.
FC Emmen will play in the Kitchen Champion Division next season. The club starts the new season on Friday, August 11 against SC Cambuur, which, like FC Emmen, descended a level.
