Mike Lindell Claims TV Stations Canceled His Ads With Him In Them

Mike Lindell, CEO of MyPillow and a staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump, said television stations across the country refuse to air his company’s commercials if he appears in them.

He made the claim to reporters before Trump’s rally in Washington Township, Michigan, on Saturday. He didn’t name any stations specifically, but said they are “smaller” media outlets, according to a video tweeted by attorney Ron Filipkowksi.

“These are smaller, I don’t even have the list…I heard it on Friday,” Lindell said. “I said that?!’ And believe me, you will never be able to sell my product again. When you leave, it’s goodbye. You have a good day”.

Lindell is one of Trump’s fiercest allies and an avid promoter of the false claim that the 2020 election was stolen due to widespread voter fraud and “hacked” voting machines. There is no evidence to support those allegations and they have been repeatedly refuted by cybersecurity and election experts. Lindell, however, continues to travel around the country promoting conspiracy theories.

The CEO of MyPillow, who is estimated to have a net worth of between $50 million and $300 million, has already spent at least $35 million to push the unsubstantiated claims. He has promised to continue spending “every penny” he has to support the former president and maintains that his efforts so far have not been “in vain.”

“I’m going to mortgage everything I own because we’re starting to see a lot of fruit from what we’ve been doing,” Lindell said in an interview with former Trump White House adviser Steve Bannon in January. “None of this is in vain. Everything is going to come to a beautiful place. Not just a clean pick, but a lot of other things we’ve learned.”

Earlier this month, he called politicians who have not supported his discredited allegations “traitors” and said he was going after Republican state officials and states that rejected his claims.

Subsequently, the CEO of MyPillow was fired by several legislators and election officials. In February, a spokesman for Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a Republican who determined there was no evidence of widespread voter fraud in his state, said news week that Lindell “knows he’s lying” but “has fallen so far into the trap that he can actually believe his own lies.” Lindell is also facing a $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems due to his repeated claims that the company helped Biden win the election.

The MyPillow CEO has previously claimed that his stance regarding the 2020 election has caused problems for his company. In January, Lindell said some of the banks he uses wanted to cut ties with him for fear of “reputational risk.”

Still, he continues to promote bogus election claims, and will likely do so at Trump’s final rally on Saturday. To prevent the spread of misinformation from Trump and his allies, Democratic Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel said she plans to fact-check the event on Facebook.

news week contacted MyPillow for additional comment but did not receive a response in time for publication.
