Fortuna Köln won its third game of the season in the Regionalliga West on Friday. In a match against 1. FC Düren that was certainly not perfect, the former second division veteran was able to rely on Marvin Mika.

Thanks to two victories at the start of the season, Fortuna Köln went into the match against 1. FC Düren with confidence.
In front of 2850 spectators in the Südstadion, home player Matter took a shot in the first minute, but his low shot went wide. After that, the game developed into an evenly matched affair, but there were no major highlights until halftime.
So the hopes of all fans of offensive football were on the second half. Mika tried a half-high shot in the 52nd minute, but this shot also missed the FCD goal. It was different in the 67th minute: Stanilewicz passed to Mika, who scored with a low shot into the far corner to give Cologne the lead.

Suddenly, the home team’s game had a bit of momentum for a few minutes, while Düren came close with Popovic from a distance, but it went over. But the game petered out towards the end on both sides. Guest goalkeeper Theißen made a desperate save against Sarpei shortly before the end, but Fortuna didn’t care because the three points stayed in Cologne’s Südstadt. This means that Mink’s eleven have a clean sheet with nine points from three games. Until Saturday, that means they are in first place in the Regionalliga West.
