The society communicates

Simon Aspelin, who is the captain of the Swedish Davis Cup and sports director for the Swedish Tennis Association, is pleased with the news.

– First of all, I think it’s a funny news. Mostly for himself. It was very sad and unfortunate what happened because he is such a good tennis player and has spent so much time on tennis since he was little. For his part, I think it is very funny that he made this decision. Then for Swedish tennis, of course it is a pleasure. He is our best tennis player and he plays at a very high level, he says.

Will you call him?

– Yes, I will. Although the first step will be to listen a little more to how his thoughts are going on.

Is it obvious to welcome Ymer with open arms if he comes back in good old fashion again or do you see any problem because he still has an 18-month doping ban?

– I don’t see any problem with it being cancelled. It is very important that you follow the rules and guidelines, but then unfortunate things happen that cause you to be cancelled. If you go ahead and stick to the criteria of the confederation when you have served your sentence, I think you are welcome to come back and represent the national team, because you yourself want and do it with a hundred percent guarantee.
