One of tennis’ absolute greatest talents is the Canadian Felix Auger-Alissime.
Mikael Ymer got to feel it on Thursday in Wimbledon’s 32-part final.
The 20-year-old beat the Swede 3-1 in sets.
Mikael Ymer has a good six months behind him, with, among other things, a fine performance in the French Open. Yesterday he moved on Wimbledon – but now it is ready for the 22-year-old.
The Canadian super talent Felix Auger-Alissime became a number too big. With 3-1 in sets, the 20-year-old managed to defeat Ymer.
Auger-Alissime took home the first set 6-4, but Ymer responded immediately and won the second set with the same numbers.
Medical time-out
Ymer made a very strong third set, breaking the Canadian early. But after four games, the Swede slipped, and took a medical timeout to get treatment in the groin area.
After the timeout, however, Auger-Alissime took command of the match. He won the third set in tiebreak, and easily played home the win in the fourth set. The final score was 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-1.
This was Ymer’s first Wimbledon. Auger-Alissime is considered one of the greatest talents in international tennis, and is ranked 19th in the world against Ymers 98.
