The BSP announced that they will return the mandate to form a cabinet. In this situation, a government composed of the BSP is impossible because of the behavior of the protest parties, Cornelia Ninova is convinced.
The former chairman of the BSP – Mikhail Mikov, stated that the party’s decision was correct. After the refusal of “There is such a people”, it is obvious that early elections are going. The left has too few people’s representatives, Mikov pointed out.
According to him, in the studio of “Bulgaria in the morning” GERB quite skillfully politically configures itself in the opposition, so that it can clean up its image and go to the elections from the position of the opposition. The other political forces could not find the common points of contact to form a majority, said the former leader of the Socialists.
“The logic of political representation has been violated. In the poorest country of the EU, the left is represented the weakest. The responsibility lies with those who are elected in the Bulgarian parliament. The responsibility for the representation of the left in Bulgaria rests on the shoulders of the BSP”, he also stated Mikov in front of the host Maria Konstantinova.
And he added that he was not surprised by the result of the BSP in the elections.
“Resigning is accepting responsibility. Obviously, Ninova does not feel responsible for this result. The BSP is moving down a path where it is losing credibility and becoming part of the status quo. We have lost our political identity. The main line of the leadership in recent years has been internal party battles and constant accusations,” commented Mikhail Mikov.
He pointed out that Kornelia Ninova likes to manipulate and does not name names, and with the exception of Gergov, everyone in the party is blamed in general. Names are withheld because no evidence can be found for the accusations, believes the former chairman of the BSP.
“The party was turned into a leadership one, into an authoritarian one. After such an election result, Congress must be convened immediately. In today’s parliament, the right is largely represented – GERB, “Democratic Bulgaria”, “There is such a people”, Mikov is categorical.
“Ninova constantly claims that GERB has its people in BSP. Let’s say names, and not with misunderstandings, because a label is attached to the whole party. In new elections, the result will be more or less the same. I do not observe a serious analysis in the BSP of what is happening. I am afraid that the BSP will not return to the second position after the new elections,” he also said.
Mikov noted that Boyko Borisov will be in power until the president appoints an official cabinet, but at the moment the prime minister has only executive power. Parliament has adopted a moratorium and can at any moment block the executive power, he stressed.
