The world of entertainment is in mourning following the death of Miguel Vigil, a renowned actor and founder of the comedy and music group ‘Academia Palanca’. Vigil, aged 68, died this Monday in Ronda, Andalusia, as a result of a heart attack. Born in Madrid, the artist had decided to move to the south, where he continued to develop his career until the very end.

Miguel Vigil, known for his participation in the series ‘Cuéntame cómo pasó’ and for his work in variety shows such as ‘Un, dos, tres’ and ‘Noche de Fiesta’, founded ‘Academia Palanca’ in 1989 together with Javier Batanero and Antonio Sánchez. The group, whose name was inspired by some verses by Miguel de Unamuno, stood out for its live performances and its irreverent style, with songs that often challenged political correctness.
‘Academia Palanca’ quickly became a benchmark for musical humor in Spain, participating in numerous television programs and releasing several albums. After the group’s dissolution in 2010, Vigil embarked on a solo career, where he stood out as a musician, writer and actor. His discography includes works such as ‘Y yo sin estos pelos’ (2020) and ‘No soy sólo una cara bonita’ (2013), while his bibliography includes nine works, the last one published in 2023.
