On a monthly basis, the Miguel Torrebiarte Sohanin Foundation (FMTS) carries out actions in the area of health and education, for the benefit of low-income children and youth from different communities in the country.
For this reason, he received a special tribute from Fundabien, who dedicated the seventh edition of the Neon 8K Race as thanks for the land ceded for the operation of the facilities located in Alta Verapaz, in which they provide the rehabilitation service.

Recently, the FMTS provided a special donation for the Maternal and Child Comprehensive Care Center -CAIMI- of San Cristóbal, made up of disposable suits for health personnel, which are necessary for daily operation.

With the aim of promoting well-being and health, an anthropometry workshop was held at the Calzado Cobán factory, to benefit more than 600 children who are part of the families of the company’s employees, and CAIMI is thanked for the support provided during the activity.
“Each month we support different institutions that, like us, benefit those who need it most, for this reason we have donated computer equipment to the Basic and Diversified Night Institute, as well as to the Cobán Regional Hospital, so that they can continue to provide quality service and benefit more than 100 people.”said Marleny Aquino, executive director of the Miguel Torrebiarte Sohanin Foundation.
Education
While in the area of education, a well-deserved recognition was given to the professors of the Emilio Rosales Ponce Institute, who were honored by the students of the class of 1975, for their years of service to education and outstanding vocation in such a praiseworthy profession.
Likewise, FMTS sponsored the monthly meeting of the Network of Cooperating Agencies for Education in Cobán -RAC-, in which key agents for change and representatives of the Departmental Directorate of Education of Alta Verapaz participated, who presented the challenges and goals to be met in the matter.
