Miguel Poveda falls in love with New York with his flamenco singing

Within the framework of the twentieth anniversary of the Flamenco Festival, the singer Michael Povedapresented his desperate first concert as a soloist in New York.

“It was worth knowing that one returns to a place where they are waiting for flamenco; not only for me, but for all the colleagues who are going to come here to this wonderful festival. And that they continue with the same desire to receive the music and flamenco, to celebrate those 20 years of the New York Flamenco Festival”, expressed Poveda.

After having postponed his visit to the city due to the pandemic, Poveda offered two recitals at NYU’s Skirball Auditorium, leaving those present ecstatic with his vocal skills and delivery on stage.

The singer was accompanied by six great artists: Jesús Guerrero (guitar), ‘El Londro’ and ‘El Grilo’ (vocals and clapping), Paquito González (percussion), Joan Alber Amargós (piano) and Antonio Molina ‘El Chorro’ , in the dance.

And in his exceptional second concert he had the participation of the legendary bailaor ‘Carrete’ from Malaga and the extraordinary jazz player of The Rolling Stones, Tim Ries.

The return of the renowned Flamenco Festival brings with it various top-level artists who have been performing at various venues in the Big Apple and will continue to do so until April 25.
