In the refugee camp, people refuse to accept food or negotiate, but only demand to be released.
In Lithuania, illegal migrants who arrived from Belarus staged a riot in one of the schools, which was turned into a refugee camp. About it informs delfi.lt on Monday 26 July.
The migrants refused to comply with the demands of the Public Security Service officers – they demand to be released.
Some Iraqi refugees also refused to accept food from Lithuanian social workers – they did not even allow children and teenagers to take food.
“Since this morning, there is no talk of negotiations. They threw away the food. The Iraqis themselves refuse to eat, they have forbidden others to take food. The only requirement is to release them from the territory,” said local official Virgilijus Pranskevicius.
In addition, sanitary standards are not observed in the refugee camp.
Recall that earlier barbed wire has run out in Lithuania because of the strengthening of the border with Belarus. Due to a shortage of barbed wire in Lithuania, the construction of a wall on the border with Belarus has stopped.
Later it became known that Estonia will send 100 km of wire to the Lithuanian-Belarusian border. Estonia will provide assistance free of charge. The wire is needed to strengthen the border against the flow of migrants.
