“Poland kept a group of people on its border in terrible conditions for several weeks. Our research indisputably shows that their position moved from Poland to Belarus on the night of August 18, which convincingly indicates that they were victims of illegal repression,” report.
The human rights organization put forward such conclusions on the basis of satellite images.
“Forcing the return of people who are trying to seek asylum without an individual assessment of their protection needs is contrary to European and international law,” the report says.
Amnesty International called on the Polish government to immediately provide refugees with adequate housing, food, water and access to legal aid.
