San Luis Potosí, SLP.- With an expectation of participation of more than two thousand vehicles and In support of up to five thousand fellow citizens of San Luis Potosí and neighboring entities, the Institute of Migration and International Liaison (IMEI), will carry out the Potosino Migrant Caravan 2024 that will begin on December 17 from Brownsville, Texas, to enter Mexican territory on the 18th of the same month commemorating International Migrant Day.
By instruction of the State Governor, Ricardo Gallardo Cardona, in a meeting held in Villa de Pozos with federal, state, municipal authorities, non-governmental organizations, consular and municipal presidents of the Central region, The head of the agency, Luis Enrique Hernández Segura, highlighted that the strategy accompanies, cares for and protects compatriots who return home during the December holiday season.
He highlighted that in 2024 the participation of more than two thousand vehicles is estimated to go to states such as Guanajuato, Querétaro, State of Mexico, Hidalgo, Zacatecas and San Luis Potosí. in this caravan that guarantees greater security when traveling to their places of origin from the United States.
The head of the Imei added that the caravan will be guarded by elements of the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), National Guard, National Migration Institute (INM), Nuevo León Civil Force, Tamaulipas State Police and the State Civil Guard, in addition to the support and attention of the Green Angels of the Ministry of Tourism.
