At the 44th edition of the Golden Raspberry Awards, popularly known as the Razzies, the worst of 2023 cinema has once again been put in the spotlight. In a ceremony that narrowly precedes the Oscars, the Razzies have no qualms about point out and ridicule film productions that have left much to be desired in terms of artistic quality.
This year, one of the great “winners” of the night has been the surprising and controversial film Winnie The Pooh: Honey and Blood – 38%, a dark and disturbing version of the beloved character from children’s stories. Directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield, this reinterpretation of Alan Alexander Milne’s classic character has garnered negative reviews and has been mocked at the Razzies, taking home the award for worst film of the year.
But Winnie The Pooh: Honey and Blood has not been the only “lucky” one at this year’s Razzies. Actress Megan Fox has been awarded Worst Actress for her role in Johnny & Clyde, and Worst Supporting Actress for The Expendables 4 – 18%, a distinction that surely does not appear on the list of desired achievements of she. For his part, the legendary Jon Voight has won the award for worst actor for his participation in Mercy, proving that even the most experienced stars are not exempt from appearing on the list of the worst.
In the supporting actor category, Sylvester Stallone has been recognized for his role in The Expendables 4. The peculiar couple formed by Pooh and Piglet in Winnie The Pooh: Honey and Blood has won the award for worst leading couple, while Rhys Frake-Waterfield has been named worst director for the same film. In addition, the script for Winnie The Pooh: Honey and Blood, also written by Frake-Waterfield, has been considered the worst of the year in the worst script category.
The 2024 Razzies have been a festival of dishonor for Winnie The Pooh: Honey and Blood, Megan Fox and several other “lucky” ones who can now boast of having been recognized for their participation in the worst cinema of the year. Below you can see the complete list:
