Vivianne Miedema has re-signed with her current club Arsenal and thus puts an end to all rumors about a possible transfer. It is not known for how long the 25-year-old international has signed.
“I think the best thing about football is to build something with a team and with people around you that you really want to belong to. I feel like I have that at Arsenal,” Miedema said in a press release.
“I feel that winning titles with Arsenal will mean a lot more to me than winning them with any other club right now. And that is of course what I hope to achieve with Arsenal.”
World top at her feet
The Orange international’s contract expired at the end of this season and the European top clubs were all too aware of that. FC Barcelona (where fellow international Lieke Martens plays) and Paris Saint-Germain, among others, were at the feet of the Dutch Miedema.
However, Miedema is not yet ready at Arsenal and vice versa. On Twitter, the English club, second in the Women’s Super League this season, only needed a goat emoji (which stands for GOAT: Greatest of All Time) to indicate that the top scorer is staying for a while.
