Midwifery students from AP Hogeschool replace older volunteers at the Wiegwijs van Kind en Gezin consultation centers

Until the end of December, midwifery students from the AP University of Applied Sciences will be deployed in a number of consultations of Wiegwijs, the former Child and Prevention. The question arose because many of the volunteers at those desks fall into the risk group for corona as people over 65.

The AP University of Applied Sciences is happy to answer the question: “Our students can certainly learn something from that”, says teacher Valerie Bosmans. “They get to know the workings of Kind en Gezin and also learn how to deal with parents, babies and small children.”

All students will now be volunteering for at least 3 hours in offices in Antwerp, Berchem, Deurne and Wilrijk. “And who knows, our students may be encouraged to commit themselves as volunteers later on.”
