Manchester Resident, Nancy Durkan, Remembered
The Levenshulme community in manchester, England, mourned the passing of Nancy Durkan (née Mannion), who passed away recently. Durkan, formerly of Clogherbeg, Claremorris, County Mayo, Ireland, will be remembered for her kindness and warmth by her family and friends.
Predeceased by her husband, Raymond, parents Henry and Nora Mannion, brother Tom Mannion, and sister Mary Kileen, Durkan is survived by her sister, Nora Giblin, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbors, and friends. “She will be sadly missed,” shared a family member.
A funeral mass was held in her honor on Thursday, December 19th, at 12 noon in St. Mary’s church,Levenshulme,Manchester.Following the service, she was laid to rest at Southern Cemetery, Barloor Moor Road, South Manchester. the service concluded with a poignant prayer,”May She Rest in Peace,” and the Gaelic phrase,”Suaimhneas Síoraí Da Hanam Dilis,” which translates to “Eternal Rest to Her Faithful Soul.”
Durkan’s passing serves as a reminder of the importance of cherishing loved ones and celebrating the lives of those who have touched our hearts. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
