The founder Mrs. Marthe Rajaofera Andriambelo had decided to take up the torch from her father, Mr. Freddy Rajaofera, owner of the major daily, the Courier of Madagascar, the flagship of the 1960s press. Our newspaper, under his direction, gradually won over a readership that appreciated the quality of his articles. He very quickly found his style, with his diversified information, covering all national and international news. He educated while entertaining. He successfully crossed the period of censorship which was a real straitjacket for the Malagasy press. During this period, he always remained faithful to this objectivity which he insisted on respecting. It has become a national news daily, being read throughout the territory of the Malagasy Republic. Its management has been modernized and it has also evolved technically. It has one of the most modern printing works in the Malagasy press, allowing it to have a circulation of several tens of thousands of copies. It has equipped itself with high-performance IT resources and it is online. It is read all over the world. During these forty years, the Midi Madagasikara team has evolved. A younger generation is now in place and has successfully taken over the reins of the newspaper. She faces the future with confidence and prepares to carry out the tasks that await her for the next forty years.
