Despite being one of the highlights of the team in the Paulista Championship, midfielder Adson played just 45 minutes in the last two games, against Remo, for the Copa do Brasil, and Liverpool, from Uruguay, for the Libertadores, and is experiencing a low moment at Corinthians.
O my helm found that the 22-year-old player’s performance in activities carried out at CT Joaquim Grava dropped considerably.
According to club officials who follow training, Adson “lost focus” during the period without official games after being eliminated in the state tournament and, as a result, lost space with Fernando Lázaro. He was one of the main negative highlights in the training games played by Corinthians.
The midfielder didn’t even enter the pitch in Timão’s debut for the Libertadores. In the Copa do Brasil, on the other hand, the number 28 started among the starters, but was replaced at halftime by the Corinthians coach.
His absence in recent games has become one of the main topics among fans and journalists who follow the club’s routine. However, Fernando Lázaro prioritizes athletes who give good answers in training and, therefore, opted for other names in the Alvinegro midfield.
In all, Adson has played 12 matches and scored three goals in the current season. It is important to remember that, unlike last year, he started to act in a more centralized way, with good moments on the sidelines.
Even with Timão’s low moment, however, Adson could be one of Fernando Lázaro’s starters next Sunday afternoon, in a duel with Cruzeiro, at 4 pm, at the Neo Química Arena, for the first round of the Brasileirão.
Without Renato Augusto, who is recovering from a knee injury, the Corinthians coach is trying to define a new midfielder. The tendency is for the team to be scaled with Cassius; Fagner, Bruno Mendez, Gil and Fabio Santos; Roni, Giuliano, Fausto Vera and Adson (Cantillo); Roger Guedes and Yuri Alberto.
