Middle East: Riyadh calls for an end to operations in Gaza

Position taken at the end of the Saudi Arabian cabinet meeting in Riyadh

The government of Saudi Arabia has called for an end to the escalation of military operations in Gaza and the humanitarian crisis it is causing. This was reported by the Saudi press agency “SPA”.

This is the position taken by the Kingdom at the end of the meeting of the Council of Ministers. The Cabinet also reviewed the results of Saudi participation in the two-day meeting of G20 foreign ministers in Rio de Janeiro and its vision regarding the group’s role in addressing existing international tensions and restructuring global governance.

The Council of Ministers also reiterated the Kingdom’s support for regional and international efforts to ban all types of weapons of mass destruction, as expressed during its participation in the United Nations Conference on Disarmament in Geneva.

The Cabinet of Saudi Arabia also praised the results of the recent Council of Arab Interior Ministers held in Tunisia and underlined the Kingdom’s continued commitment to supporting and strengthening joint Arab action in all fields so as to help establish the foundations of security, stability and prosperity in the Region.
