Dubai, September 23 / WAM / More than three thousand doctors and experts from the region and the world participated in the eighth session of the Middle East International Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine Conference and Exhibition “MEDAM 2023”, which was launched yesterday and continues for three days at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The conference – organized by “DXB Live”, the arm providing integrated event organization and management services at the Dubai World Trade Center in partnership with “MEDAM”, was attended by Khaled Khalifa, representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and advisor to the High Commissioner, and Dr. Ahmed Al-Mandhari, director. WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean.

Dr. Khaled Al Nuaimi, President of the Conference, said – in his speech during the opening – that the “MEIDAM” conference is a milestone and an important platform for knowledge exchange and cooperation among all those working in the field of dermatology and cosmetic medicine, as this global event contributes to strengthening the partnership with governmental institutions, international and private organizations, and all partners and interested parties. .

For his part, Dr. Saad bin Sami Al-Suqair, Secretary General of the Middle East International Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine Organization, said that the conference includes multiple tracks that include a variety of specialized fields, including general dermatology, pediatric cases, cosmetic medicine, fungal infections, vitiligo, psoriasis, and others, pointing out that The conference’s intensive scientific program, which includes 47 specialized seminars and workshops in six scientific programs, is held in parallel over the three days of the conference.

He pointed out that the conference activities include the presentation of 220 scientific lectures presenting the latest research and information on new studies and urgent and urgent topics related to dermatology and cosmetics, noting the exhibition accompanying the conference, which displays the latest advanced devices and new trends in this sector.

Al-Sugair pointed out that the event also hosts a group of specialized scientific and practical workshops licensed by the Dubai Health Authority to train doctors practically on the latest methods of cosmetic injections, cosmetic medicine and anti-aging.

The first day of the conference discussed various topics, including the latest developments in dermatology, sports-related skin diseases, pediatric skin diseases, hair growth stimulation techniques, laser complications, and the integration of technology into dermatology, cosmetic medicine, and others.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has a distinguished presence in the conference activities, as Dr. Abdullah bin Sulaiman Al-Aqeel, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Society of Dermatology and Surgery, participates in the scientific programs of the conference, as well as many Saudi doctors and consultants in providing lectures, seminars and scientific workshops. The Saudi Society of Dermatology and Surgery also participates in The conference as a strategic scientific partner.

The second day of the conference highlights a combination of the latest innovations and traditional knowledge and includes discussion of many important topics such as an in-depth analysis of how to manage chronic hand dermatitis and prurigo nodularis, the latest technological innovations, non-surgical treatments for skin dyspigmentation, and multidisciplinary cooperation between dermatologists and rheumatologists.
