Middle East: In Athens the 22 Greeks from Lebanon – 2024-10-05 05:36:49

The 22 Greeks who were freed from the capital of Lebanon, Beirut, by a C-130 aircraft of the Air Force, which landed at the 112th Fighter Wing in Elefsina, are now on Greek soil.

The same warplane had earlier landed in Cyprus, where it disembarked 38 Cypriot citizens, whom it had also boarded from Beirut.

The Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias had announced earlier that the rescue operation from Beirut of 38 citizens of the Republic of Cyprus and 22 citizens of the Hellenic Republic and for the entry of the C-130 aircraft of the Air Force into the Nicosia FIR was successfully carried out.
