A middle-aged man was reportedly swept away in the stream Kali Code Yoga. The man is suspected of deliberately jumping into the river from the Jambu Gemblakan Bridge.
Reported detikjogja, Thursday (11/4/2024), the incident occurred on Wednesday (10/4) at around 18.00 WIB. The identity of the man who plunged into Kali Code is known to be Basuki (53), a resident of Gemblakan Bawah, Suryatmajan, Danurejan, Jogja City.
“It’s true that the temporary information was that he accidentally jumped from the Jambu Gemblakan Bridge,” said the Chief Executive of the Jogja City BPBD, Nurhidayat.
Nurhidayat said that the results of the family’s narrative revealed that the victim had disappeared from home two days ago. The victim was then found around the Ahmad Dahlan University area.
“The person concerned disappeared 2 days ago and was finally found by his family near the UAD campus. We cannot confirm the cause (jumping into the river),” he said.
The SAR team and volunteers are currently starting to monitor the Code River area. An intense search of the location will be carried out today.
