Warming is expected in mid-May
In the coming days, a noticeable warming is coming. The cold that was blowing in from the northeast will give way to warm Mediterranean air masses that will bring temperatures back up to the usual spring levels.
We welcome Saturday with minimal clouds in the eastern half of the country and with breaking clouds in the west. It is there in the afternoon and evening around the mountains that there will be light precipitation. It will be almost calm, with daytime temperatures of 17 to 22-23 degrees.
On Sunday, temperatures will drop slightly in areas with precipitation. The wind will be southerly with stronger gusts on the mountains. There will be more clouds over the country and conditions for precipitation during the day, except in Western, there will also be some areas of Central Bulgaria.
At the beginning of next week, our country will be on the edge of a Mediterranean cyclone. The cloudiness will be dynamic – on Monday and Tuesday more often significant, and from the middle to the end of the week – mostly thundery with local temporarily intense precipitation in the afternoon and evening. The risk of hail increases.
Throughout the period, temperatures will remain spring-like with values around and above 20 degrees, in certain areas around and slightly above 25 degrees. Sofia is among the traditionally cool parts of the country. The temperature in the capital will fluctuate around 20 degrees.
