The Tainan City Fire Department received a report yesterday at 5:52 pm that a fire broke out in a 3-story house in Lane 44, Fuguo 1st Road, Yongkang District. Firefighters found 77-year-old grandmother nicknamed Xu apparently dead in the front room on the second floor, while 91-year-old grandfather nicknamed Wang and granddaughter nicknamed Chen lost signs of life.

The South Inspection Bureau pointed out that after the prosecutor and coroner examined the remains, it was confirmed that the three people died of suffocation from inhalation and the woman surnamed Xu suffered severe burns.
