On November 24, Saylor said he needed “more green dots,” with each green dot representing a bitcoin purchase from the company.
Recently MicroStrategy almost did it $3 billion with which the company wanted to buy even more bitcoin. This money comes from bonds that mature in 2029. Although the initial goal was to raise $1.75 billion, interest among investors was so great that the total amount of now $2.97 billion.
Now the company has used these funds to buy $5.4 billion worth of bitcoin. It concerns 55,500 BTC, which brings their current profit with bitcoin to 60%.
Price increases won’t stop MicroStrategy
More than one a week ago the company already bought $4.6 billion worth of bitcoin, which produced 51,780 bitcoins. The company has now exceeded that amount, again with theirs biggest purchase ever. In total, the company owns a whopping 386,700 bitcoins after the big purchase. The previous purchase was made at an average price per coin of $88,627, now it was $97,862.
MicroStrategy doesn’t seem to be too worried about the huge price increase experienced by bitcoin. Bitcoin is breaking records with the price going up, and it seems that the company now just wants to buy more bitcoin. The bitcoin price at the time of writing about $97,600.
The future for MicroStrategy
MicroStrategy has big plans. Their 21/21 plan aims to raise $42 billion in three years, all of which will be invested in bitcoin. $21 billion of this should come from the sale of shares and the other half from loans.
