Windows Central reports that there will be a big focus on AI in some of Microsoft’s upcoming Surface models. No new Surface Laptop or Surface Pro units were launched this year, instead other products in the Surface family got some updates, but next year both Surface Laptop 6 and Surface Pro 10 will be launched with hardware specifically for AI functions .
Surface Laptop 6 and Surface Pro 10 should, according to Windows Central’s sources, be equipped with Intel’s 14th generation of processors and Qualcomm’s X Series chip, respectively. In addition to that, the computers must also be equipped with the dedicated AI hardware npu, neural processing unit or neruon processor. They must be able to use all the AI tools Microsoft plans to build into Windows in 2024.
The head of Microsoft’s Surface venture, Panos Patay, left the company earlier this year. Some questions were then asked about the future of the Surface products in particular, but it seems in any case that they will remain in 2024.
