According to the magazine’s sources Insider Gaming Microsoft is preparing for Xbox one of the biggest stands it has ever had at Gamescom. Tom Henderson claims that players will try out Forza Motorsport, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl and Towerborne on site. It is speculated that we could also learn more about Microsoft’s projects at the opening ceremony Opening Night Live, which is prepared and moderated again by Geoff Keighley. Of course, fans are wondering whether the release of the STALKER 2 event could finally be closer after the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the move of the GSC Game World studio to Prague.
Now that we’ve had a taste of Gamescom, it’s appropriate to add that after last year’s first post-covid year, this year’s participation of individual companies is again being discussed a lot. Unlike Microsoft, Sony will not be coming to Cologne, but Nintendo may be. The participation of some of the biggest publishers is also controversial. While we can find the Ubisoft stand on site – and according to our information it will be worth it – you would look in vain for games from Electronic Arts at the Cologne fairground. Companies such as Bandai Namco, Sega and Focus Entertainment will be present, but the strong presence of THQ Nordic is also missing.
The event will take place from August 23 to 27. You might also be interested in how we are doing with our participation at Gamescom. Zdenek and I are going to Germany this year together, and Kristýna will be looking after us from Prague. On August 22, we’ll bring you the Opening Night Live broadcast from the studio with Czech commentary, and then we’ll spend two days at the fairgrounds. As usual, we will bring you impressions from the fair itself and individual titles. Our calendar is filling up fast with meetings and playable demos, so hopefully it will be worth it.
