Last year Microsoft ran a campaign they called [email protected] Demo Festand as the name suggests, it included video game demos. Many of them.
This was clearly a success, because they have now confirmed that Xbox Wire at [email protected] Demo Fest is back this year, kicking off on 11 July with a digital showcase of indie games (starting at 18:00 BST / 19:00 CET and viewable via the usual channels like Twitch and Youtube). Following this streaming, over 40 demos will be published and playable on Xbox until July 17th. Microsoft explains that some demos “may be published on the Demo Channel later, but many will simply disappear by the end of the week, so check them out while you can”.
It should also be pointed out that these are demos from games that are sometimes far from finished. Microsoft believes that you should take advantage of the opportunity to take an early look at them, and also provide feedback to the developers, as a little constructive criticism can actually mean you get a better game in the end when it finally launches:
“Think of these as sort of ‘show floor demos’ and not necessarily indicative of the final product. It means you get to experience these games early – quite early – which is great, as you get the opportunity to provide feedback ! Also, please note that these games will continue to evolve and be refined as they get closer to launch.”
Here are five confirmed titles getting new demos below [email protected] Demo Fest:
