Microsoft’s Acquisition of Activision Blizzard: No Immediate Inclusion of Call of Duty in Game Pass

Who would have thought that just splashing out super duper money worth USD 68 billion was not the end of the buying process for other big companies. This kind of situation has sparked fears of a monopoly process, which in turn has led many related agencies in various major countries to end up carrying out an investigative process. The good news? The process of Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard has shown a bright spot with only one British body disapproving of it. Gamers have high hopes that passing the acquisition will also mean access to more AAA games on Xbox and PC Game Pass. This is not the case.

This was conveyed directly by Xbox – Phil Spencer in his latest interview with IGN. Spencer openly emphasized that one of Activision Blizzard’s biggest games – Call of Duty will not immediately and automatically enter Game Pass once the acquisition process passes. Spencer said that adding a video game to Game Pass requires a process and cannot be done instantly. There is work that they have to go through which of course takes time. Therefore, passing this acquisition would not directly make these games go directly to Game Pass.

Microsoft confirmed that COD will not enter Game Pass immediately when the acquisition process for Activision Blizzard is complete.

Unfortunately, Spencer himself did not speak in more detail about the estimated time it would take before these games could be enjoyed on PC and Xbox Game Pass. What do you think? How long are you ready to patiently wait?
