Microsoft’s Acquisition of Activision Blizzard King: Sony Signs 10-Year Deal for Call of Duty on PlayStation

Microsoft has been busy convincing regulators that the acquisition of Activision Blizzard King won’t lead to anything close to a monopoly. One of its strategies is to offer Nintendo, Nvidia, EE, Valve, Sony, etc. 10-year deals to offer Call of Duty games on their platforms.Sony rejected the deal, but it seems the Japanese company has figured out it’s time to admit defeat because FTC fails to block Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard King the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority agreed to negotiate after the first stop on integration.

I’m saying this because Xbox head Phil Spencer revealed Sony’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard King at Microsoft Finally, a deal has been signed to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation. Spencer didn’t mention a time frame, but six sources I spoke to claimed it was a 10-year deal, like the others. That’s the decade starting in 2024, and since Sony’s contract with Activision includes the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, don’t expect to see Call of Duty on PlayStation consoles until at least 2035.
