Microsoft shows first images of what Windows 10 will look like after an update, including a new design.
At Microsoft they also found out that Windows 10 needs an update. Here and there the system sometimes crashes or is it a bit outdated, we wrote about it earlier. But now we have the first images of the updated design of Windows 10.
Major feature update this fall
Microsoft has shown a few mock-ups on GitHub. It is not entirely coincidental that this platform is used for this, since Microsoft is the owner. The update comes as no surprise, the company says it has been working on a refresh of the most used operating system in the world for some time. Some context menus are shown, as well as the interface for choosing a date and time.
Most striking here are the round corners, instead of the square corners that have been used in recent years. It seems as if this new design design harkens back to Windows Vista and Windows 7.
X-ray effect
What we see in GitHub is that Microsoft is considering drop-down menus for Windows apps in the new interface, such as DatePicker. The drop-down menu then has a so-called “x-ray” effect, where the color is adjusted when the wheels come to a stop.
This allows us to dynamically switch colors, even while scrolling, creating a very smooth looking “x-ray” effect
Microsoft
Of course, the upgrade will be extensively tested, bugs are annoying and must be removed. Then the program can be released completely. The renewed interface will therefore first be used in Insider builds, to get users used to the new design and to test the new features among their customers. We can not wait!
