As we can read on the Microsoft blog, the company has committed, with the launch of two new controller models for Xbox called Electric Volt and Daystrike Camo for the Xbox Series X and Series S, to use recycled resins, something that will come from products already used by consumers.
These resins do not need to be from other Microsoft controls, but in general they will be made from products such as car headlight lampshades, plastic jugs and CDs.
The company indicates that the strength of the new recycled resins is expected to is exactly the same as the controls made with traditional techniques, so it is to be expected that the controls do not have a premature life or problems derived from this manufacturing technique.
In any case, only time will reveal if the latter is true, but It is appreciated that companies like Microsoft make use of their resources to be the most environmentally friendly at the same time that quality products are offered, something that more and more companies are doing, but all help is little at a time when pollution reaches worrying figures.
