Microsoft will keep Call of Duty for 10 years on PlayStation

Microsoft has revealed to the New York Times that it has made itself available to agree with Sony on a period of 10 years for the Call of Duty series to remain on the PlayStation platforms.

The future of Activision Blizzard’s series on rival Microsoft consoles, platforms and services is one of the main topics that is generating more detailed investigations, but Microsoft assures that it went far beyond what could have been expected.

Phil Spencer has already commented that they will keep Call of Duty on PlayStation for many years and have already made this intention known to the rival, but Jim Ryan reacted and said the proposal was inappropriate.

In recent weeks, several competition authorities have investigated the deal and Spencer last week said he was willing to agree with Sony that the series will remain on PlayStation, to try to reassure the authorities who are investigating the deal.

Spencer says the business is particularly focused on mobile devices and doesn’t take Call of Duty off the PlayStation. Now, Microsoft has told The New York Times that Sony is misleading authorities and exaggerating the importance of Call of Duty to its future.

Jim Ryan responded to the New York Times’ request for a statement and says it’s not true that the company is deceiving the authorities. Ryan says Microsoft is a tech giant with a long history of dominant industries.

Ryan even says that the current picks available to players will most likely disappear if the deal goes through.
