In addition to the new Surfacs, on September 21, Microsoft talked about the new features that it will add to Windows 11 before the end of the month. Thanks to the fact that we knew most of the news in advance from the testing phase, many of them were even revealed by the company only recently. But she successfully kept one thing a secret until the mentioned event – until Painting will increase image generator Cocreator.
It will not appear like a bolt from the blue, rather someone may be surprised by the renewed interest of the Redmonds in Painting. Microsoft is working with OpenAI. Thanks to its technology, it runs the chatbot Bing Chat and its variation Copilot. Chat learned to draw in March and uses a Dall-e tube for this. After less than a year of the rapidly becoming outdated second version, the third version was introduced. It will be more creative and follow user instructions more precisely.
It can even generate text. At the event dedicated to the new Surfacs, Microsoft said straight away that it will soon be deployed in Bing. But why save generation for fun, but relatively harmless use, when generative AI can participate in the creation of graphics in specific projects. It’s about the tool Designer and soon also Painting.
An image generator will be added to Painting
Everything fits together. During September, the test version of a tool that had been unchanged for years offered revolutionary changes. Painting works with layers and supports transparency, which it retains when saved to PNG format. At the same time, it learned to automatically remove the background behind the object it detects.
It will be far from Photoshop, but it cannot compete with the relatively expensive hegemon intended for professionals. Paint is still a simple and free tool that, thanks to new features, will allow so-called ordinary people to take a selfie, remove the background behind their person in a minute and replace it with a creative paint.
Integration makes sense when combined with layers and transparency
This was unthinkable until recently and you had to solve it with external tools in Windows. The new editing functions are also simultaneously permeating the Photos application. News in both applications will be available in Windows 11 to the general public from September 26. we expect distribution to take at least weeks.
