Microsoft tries to reassure fans following Xbox Games Showcase demo

The Halo Infinite gameplay demo performed negatively at Microsoft’s Xbox Games Showcase because of its graphics that don’t do justice to the power of the Xbox Series X.

After the bad buzz of the Inside Xbox on games from third-party publishers for the Xbox Series X, Microsoft crashed again with the digital event Xbox Games Showcase, while creating a new bad buzz with the demo of Halo Infinite, the new opus of the legendary license of the American publisher which must accompany the launch of the new Xbox at the end of the year, despite a simultaneous release on Xbox One and PC. The observation is simple, the graphics are not up to the promises and expectations of the players. There is a real delay in development that the makers of the brand at Green X do not really assume, in addition to the impact of the cross-generation which will be lacking in the XSX for two years.

Aaron Greenberg, le responsable marketing de Xbox, still tried to calm attacks from fans on social media and forums, but it really does not pass, some even wanting the resignation of the latter: “Listen, we’re in the middle of a global pandemic. We are in July, we are far from the end of the year, you see a game in development. That said, you’ve probably watched the stream in 1080p, maybe. We have since released the video in 4K at 60 fps. Check out the game in 4K and 60fps. It is very difficult to show all the power and graphic fidelity that the Xbox Series X will be able to offer you via a video stream. So go back and watch it in 4K and 60fps. The only thing I’m just going to say is that the development is underway (…) I can tell you because we see new builds every week, and the 343 Industries studio is making progress week after week. Between now and the end of the year, things will get better and better.

No public beta for Halo Infinite multiplayer, but playable at launch

In an official statement, 343 Industries said that fans will not be able to test Halo Infinite multiplayer with a public beta due to Covid-19 : “When we first revealed Halo Infinite in 2018, I spoke about our ambitions to launch an early testing program to bring the community into our development journey. The Halo Insider Program and Public Trials helped bring the Master Chief Collection to PC, providing critical commentary and contributions to help shape the best possible experience. With Halo Infinite, we’re also committed to building the game in partnership with our community, but given this year’s unprecedented challenges, we’re not quite where we expected in terms of wider public availability. While this was not the full program we envisioned, we worked closely with the community on almost every facet of the project. From the earliest planning where we focused on general art style and story commentary, to practice testing and focused commentary with private groups of community representatives over the past two years, Halo Infinite is created in partnership with the community. The team is still working and evaluating options for broader practical opportunities ahead of launch and we’ll share an update when we can, but that process doesn’t end with launch. In fact, in many ways, community feedback and testing will be even more important after launch, as we team up to continually evolve and update the game in the future.

Annoyed by many rumors, Brian Jarrad, communications manager at 343 Industries, assured that multiplayer will be playable when Halo Infinite launches.
