Microsoft Teams is introducing fresh backgrounds to its platform, featuring new still and animated images. This update is the most significant yet since the virtual background collection’s original launch in 2020. The new options aim to replace messy backgrounds with idyllic scenes. The new still background imagery collection is already available, while the animated versions will be launched in June. The Microsoft design team says the revamped visual library represents the platform’s users and how they work best. There are six categories of backgrounds, including wood and light, contemporary backgrounds, colorful clouds, and mountains. Also, some of these cater to people on the autism spectrum by mitigating the effects of patterns and materials. The new backgrounds are now available for Microsoft Teams’ 300 million monthly active users.
