Microsoft has launched a new feature that allows all of its users to broadcast games directly through the Microsoft Teams video calling and collaboration platform.
In a new development, Microsoft has integrated the “Xbox Game” bar within the Teams platform, which now enables users to live stream games with ease.
When you download the free “Microsoft Teams Play Together” app from Store Microsoft applicationsUsers will have the ability to share their screens during gaming sessions via the Teams platform, after installation, players can make calls while playing on the screen, and this feature allows up to 20 people to join these calls at the same time.
Microsoft indicates that this feature aims to enable users to “communicate while watching and playing games.” However, this feature remains primarily entertainment and is not used for practical purposes.
Previous reports stated that Microsoft is seeking to acquire the social networking platform “Discord”, which is popular among gamers and developers, and which offers many features, including the ability to broadcast games directly, however, this deal has not been completed yet, and instead, it relies on Microsoft is another strategy by developing similar features within its existing platforms.
Currently, Microsoft allows games to be broadcast via Teams at a frame rate of 30 frames per second or less, in contrast, other platforms such as “Twitch” provide 1080p broadcasts at a frame rate of up to 60 frames per second, and the YouTube platform offers a higher resolution of up to 4K. At a frame rate of up to 60 fps.
It is worth noting that this new feature allows broadcasting the entire screen and what appears on it without restrictions, regardless of the games or applications that are running.
