Microsoft Teams will add a new option that will allow administrators to recover from an interruption in a live event, without having to start the process again.
This new feature will save a lot of time and headaches for both event organizations and attendees.
New Microsoft Teams feature for live events
While Microsoft Teams has tons of features that make it easy to hold virtual meetings and tailor them to different needs, nothing seems to save us from the glitches and other eventualities that abruptly end a live event.
In that case, it is impossible to resume the event again in Teams and forces administrators to schedule a new event, with all the inconveniences that this implies, both for the organization and for the attendees. However, this problem would be about to be solved with a future update.
As can be seen in the Microsoft roadmap, Teams is developing a new feature that allows you to restart the live event. So if the event is interrupted by technical problems, bad connection or the presenter interrupts it due to an eventuality, you can restart it without problems.
So once the problem is fixed, they can resume the live event by simply selecting “Restart.” Although no one wants to go through these types of setbacks at an event, it is good to know that you have a plan b to continue with the transmission and that everything remains as a small unforeseen event.
This new feature could be rolled out to Microsoft Teams starting in July, so you still have several weeks of testing left before we get to the stable version and see how it works. When that happens, this feature will be available in both the web and desktop versions, as described by the Microsoft team.
