Microsoft is back in the smartphone market after the introduction of the Surface Duo, an Android smartphone with two screens. Availability initially seemed to be limited to a few countries, but a response from a spokesman suggests that the device may also come to the Netherlands and Belgium.
The Microsoft Surface Duo is a foldable Android smartphone with two 5.6-inch OLED screens that have a resolution of 1800 x 1350 pixels. Folded open you arrive at an 8.1-inch diagonal. Internally we find a Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB of RAM, 128GB or 256GB of storage space, an 11MP camera and a 3577mAh battery. When closed, the Surface Duo is only 8mm thick.
The Surface Duo initially appears to be released only in America and some focus markets in Europe. The website AndroidWorld made inquiries with Microsoft about a launch in the Benelux. The response from Microsoft suggests that the smartphone will also come to the Netherlands and Belgium later. “I can’t tell you yet about the availability of Duo in Belgium and the Netherlands, but you will certainly hear from us in the coming months.”
In America, the Microsoft Surface Duo receives a hefty suggested retail price of no less than $ 1,399.99, converted to about $ 1,200. As a result, the smartphone is by no means for everyone. If the Surface Duo does indeed come to the Benelux, the price may be even higher here.
