In October Microsoft released its second generation folding ‘smartphone’. Surface Duo 2 follows the lines of the first generation, where we have two screens separated by a folding zone.
One of the curiosities for this type of device is how they behave in durability tests. And specialist Zach Nelson, from JerryRigEverything channel, has already released the usual video that tests the equipment’s resistance.
Unlike other folding smartphones, this model effectively has glass screens. As these do not double, they have Gorilla Glass Victus, and only score at level 6 on the Mohs scale.
The big reason most viewers see this video is because of the famous bend test. And when the device is a Microsoft Surface Duo 2, curiosity is even greater.
The truth is that the smartphone shows great flexibility when it is folded (in “book” mode). But thanks to Gorilla Glass Victus, he ends up holding up like a champion, and passes the test without major problems.
The Microsoft Surface Duo 2 was released with the Snapdragon 888 processor, and a full 8.3”-inch panel when unfolded. This one has 800 nits of brightness, 90Hz refresh rate and the aforementioned Gorilla Glass Victus.
The battery is 4449mAh and charging amounts to 23W. Like its predecessor, it was released only in the United States and in selected markets, where Portugal is not included, for US$ 1499. Inside we find the Android 11 operating system.
