Microsoft Store restore feature should simplify new Windows 11 installation – Computer – News

Microsoft is announcing a new feature for the Microsoft Store in Windows 11 to restore apps with a click on a fresh install of the operating system. At the moment this has to be done manually per app.

The new feature must ensure that previously installed apps are installed with one click on a fresh installation of Windows 11. That way, users don’t have to search for which apps they already had installed on their computer when they switch to a new PC or reinstall their current PC.

Opposite The Verge tells general manager of the Microsoft store, Giorgio Sardo, that the restore function should also ensure that app developers can more easily retain customers. With the restore feature, “developers don’t have to remind their customers to download their app again,” Sardo said.

Microsoft is also expanding its test for Android apps on Windows 11 to five new countries. It concerns apps in the Amazon Appstore. Currently, Microsoft already supports this app store in Windows 11 in the United States. The tech giant will add there soon France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom. It is not known when the Amazon Appstore in the Netherlands and Belgium will come to Windows 11.
