Microsoft 365 users have noticed that the North American corporation has included the Defender client in the update package for the office suite. A proprietary antivirus is installed by the software giant forcibly. It does not ask users for permission.
Details
The corporation sent out an email to its customers explaining the benefits of using antivirus software. Neowin network journalists noticed in the document a mention of the forced installation of Defender on computers with Windows 10 and 11 during the scheduled update of Microsoft 365. The softmaker’s email focuses on the fact that you must log in to activate the protection tool. To do this, just launch Defender from the Start menu.
Last week, Twitter users began to complain about the forced installation of the antivirus. It is worth noting that Defender is technically distributed by a North American corporation as a separate application. Hence, there is nothing to prevent users from uninstalling it after push installation.
