Microsoft signed a ten-year deal to bring video games to Xbox to the users of Nintendoincluding the popular game Call of Dutyas announced this Tuesday, February 21, 2023, the president of the technology company, Brad Smith.
“This is part of our commitment to bring Xbox games and Activision (video game company) titles like Call of Duty to more players on more platforms,” Smith wrote in a tweet.

The agreement between Microsoft and Nintendo was announced in December 2022 by the head of Xbox, Phil Spencer.
However, Smith did not mention anything about Sony in his statement. Microsoft offered to Sony a similar 10-year commitment to new Call of Duty games, but so far there is no word of a possible deal and the trade press has described the negotiation process as “tense”.
Activision purchase
On the other hand, both Microsoft and Sony will meet this Tuesday the 21st with the regulators of the European Union to discuss Microsoft’s proposed acquisition of acquiring Activision for USD 68.7 billion.
This is a crucial moment for the proposed acquisition by Microsoftwhich also faces opposition from regulators in the United Kingdom y USA for fear of a possible monopoly.
The Federal Trade Commission The US (FTC) is in the process of suing Microsoft to block its purchase, while the ACompetition and Markets Authority The UK’s CMA said in its interim results of its inquiry earlier this month that the deal could harm UK players.
