Microsoft signs 10-year deals with Nintedo and Nvidia to bring its Xbox games to those platforms

Microsoft has announced a new agreement with Nvidia to bring Xbox titles to PC and those developed by Activision Blizzard to its cloud gaming platform, Nvidia GeForce Now, for the next ten years.

In January 2022, the manufacturer of Xbox announced its intention to buy the video game developer, a move that its main competitor, Sony, did not like, which raised the possibility that Microsoft would monopolize the ‘gaming’ universe.

The technology company is just a few months away from knowing the final verdict on the purchase of Activision Blizzard King, a takeover that the UK Competition Market Authority (CMA) was initially set to resolve on March 1, but has been delayed until the end of April this year. The agreement is also being reviewed in the United States and the European Union, among other markets.

This Tuesday, the president of Microsoft, Brad Smithannounced that his company had “negotiated and signed a ten-year binding agreement” to bring the star video game of Activison Blizzard, Call of Duty, “to Nintendo gamers the same day as Xbox.”

The manager released the news the same day he presented the arguments for which they believe that the European Commission, another of the organizations investigating the purchase, should approve the transaction.

Just a few hours later, Microsoft announced that it had partnered with Nvidia, also for a ten-year periodto bring Xbox games for PC to Nvidia’s cloud gaming service, GeForce Now.

Thanks to this agreement, Xbox will also bring your games to macOS, Chromebooks, smartphones and other devices. It will also allow Activision Blizzard PC titles to stream on this cloud service.

From Microsoft they point out that this association “offers more options to gamers and resolves Nvidia’s concerns with Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard” and ensures that “Nvidia offers its full support for the regulatory approval of the acquisition.”

Microsoft has said that it will start working with Nvidia “immediately” to integrate its Xbox PC titles into its gaming platform and that it willRelease dates will be announced from the GeForce Now website of these Microsoft video games on GeForce Now.
