London: Microsoft’s services were disrupted globally on Wednesday. The services of Microsoft cloud platform Azure, e-mail Outlook, video conferencing system Teams and online game Xbox were disrupted for hours. Service was disrupted in the US, Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa. However, there is no disruption to services in China.
According to reports, the reason for the service interruption is a network failure in Microsoft’s cloud platform Azure. Microsoft said it has identified the issue and is working on a fix. Many people have taken to social media to complain about service disruptions. According to internet tracking website Downdetector, services have been disrupted for thousands of people. More than 280 million people worldwide, including schools and businesses, use Microsoft Teams.
It was reported yesterday that Microsoft’s quarterly profit fell by 12 percent. The company had decided to cut 10,000 jobs this month due to the financial crisis.
