As we recently collected on Gamereactor, the program FBS Boost has come to an end after more than 130 Xbox titles saw their image rate double or even quadruple when they run on the Xbox Series X console. Now the director of Xbox program management, Jason Ronald, has wanted to tell more on the matter in your Twitter, remembering that Microsoft always knew (and said) that the improvement would not affect the entire catalog:
“For those of you asking for clarification, we knew that our current FPS Boost techniques would only have an effect on a selection of titles. This is similar to the Xbox One X resolution enhancements. We have enabled FPS Boost on over 130 titles, but we have tried many, many more without success. “
In any case, although this program has been terminated, that does not imply that players cannot receive other improvements in the future, although there are still no concrete plans:
“Improving past games is difficult because we do not touch the source code of the games themselves. If we are able to develop new methods to further improve backward compatible titles we will try by all means, but we have nothing on the immediate horizon.”
What titles have you enjoyed now with FPS Boost and which ones have you missed it in?
